Hanging a radiator on a wall is the easy part. Getting it to actually heat the room — and not cool the rest of the house doing it — is about sizing, balancing and the state of the water in your system.
What the installation covers
- Sizing & balancing — calculating the right radiator size for your room's heat loss, and adjusting the valves so it warms in sync with the rest of your home rather than starving other rooms.
- Pipework adaptation — assessing your existing system and modifying, altering or replacing old lines with new copper pipe so the new radiator fits seamlessly.
- System flushing — cleaning out old sludge, rust and debris from the pipes before fitting, so the new unit is not immediately contaminated.
- Rust prevention — adding a high-quality chemical inhibitor to protect your new radiator from corroding from the inside out.
- Leak testing & bleeding — removing all trapped air and running a high-pressure test on every new valve and joint to guarantee a watertight, evenly heated finish.
Replacing versus adding
Swapping a radiator for one the same size on the same pipe centres is straightforward. Moving a radiator to a different wall, or adding one where there was none, means new pipework and is quoted on inspection.
Booking and pricing
The price shown covers a standard like-for-like replacement on existing pipework. Repositioning, new pipe runs and full system power-flushing are quoted separately. We confirm the final price before any work begins.
